
Amidst protest against observing “International Yoga Day” on Sunday by various organizations in Nagaland, the day was observed in various parts of the state.
PWC: Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur observed “International Yoga” at the College premises with principal Uma Bhowmick.
SATAKHA: 111 Battalion BSF observed “International Yoga Day” on Sunday at BN HQ Satakha, Nagaland under the supervision of Commandant 111 BN BSF Sh Nitin Gupta. All troops present at the BN HQ as well as all CI posts participated in the event at their place of deployment and carried out a set of exercises to keep the mind and body healthy.
GVBRS: Students, staff and guardians of Gamadi Vidya Bharati Residential School (GVBRS) Dhansiripar observed “International Yoga Day” on Sunday with Pankaj Sinha, the organising secretary of Janjati Shiksha Samiti Nagaland (Vidya Bharati) as chief guest-cum-instructor.
HSG: Observation of “International Yoga Day” was organized by secretary-cum-organizing commissioner, Hindustan Scouts & Guides (HSG) M Ghana Nirmala at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and assisted by the scouters, Abraham and Hao. Yoga was taught to people from all age groups. The HSG has decided to continue the service to public on all Saturdays.
MITE: Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima observed “International Yoga Day” on June 20 in place of 21 June at the campus auditorium.
During the programme, all the students, teachers and staff practiced the yoga exercises under the guidance of yoga practitioner and the winner of “the entrepreneur 2014” Annie Patton.
At the programme, the institute vice principal and the yoga expert emphasized the usefulness of yoga and stated that many diseases could be prevented by practising yoga.
