One person has been taken into the custody of Kohima police after he was allegedly caught stealing a Maruti van (NL01-T-6223) red-handed on May 17 from Old Ministers Hill area.
According to Kohima Police, an FIR was lodged with South Police Station by Old Ministers Hill Youth Organization (OMHYO) against the accused identified as Chekrozoto (22), son of Wheleheta, of Jessami village, under Ukhrul district of Manipur and currently residing at Chozuba, Phek. The accused was then accordingly produced at South P.S Kohima, police said, adding that a regular case was registered against him for conducting further investigation.
Meanwhile, Kohima Police has expressed appreciation to OMHYO for assisting the administration in controlling crimes in the District.
