An emergency meeting of the presidential council of All ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUM) was held on May 8 where the council discussed in details the prevailing law and order problems in the state in particular with special reference to Mokokchung Town.
According to a press statement, the presidential council members resolved to protect and safeguard the liberties of all citizens of the town as enshrined in the constitution of AWUM (Art-2) and informed the entire colony chairman to report to the office of the AWUM in the event of any unfortunate incident or violence in the ward.
Furthermore, as resolved in the previous General meeting, all the household under AWUM were informed to keep ready five bundles of traditional bamboo torch, dao, spear and to assemble in the incident reported ward.
All the chairman, secretary, executives members and GBs of the respective wards were also informed to co-ordinate with the All ward Union Mokokchung Town and report immediately to do the needful if situation demands.
