Kohima police manning Phesama check gate intercepted one passenger bus (MN-04-4769) proceeding towards Guwahati from Imphal and recovered 34 packets (each weighing 13 Kgs approx) of contraband Marijuana (Ganja) concealed inside a basket on April 27 at 4:30 p.m.
Accordingly, three persons namely Milan Singh (40), son of Ibomcha Singh of Khomjom village under Thoubal district, Manipur; Rashis Khan (25), son of Madani of Lilong village under Thoubal district, Manipur; and Sana Sapam (19), son of Milan Singh of Khomjom village under Thoubal district, Manipur; were taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the contraband ganja.
Case in this connection has been registered with the South Police Station and further investigation was on.
In a separate incident, Kohima police manning Khuzama check gate, while conducting checking and frisking, intercepted one Manipur bound NST bus bearing register No. NL-11-1530) and recovered wildlife products suspected to be ginseng weighing 50 kgs from the possession of one Pfokreni Harilu Khrasi (30), son of late A Pfokreni of Makhan village under Tadubi in Senapati district, Manipur.
During preliminary investigation, police ascertained that the consignment was procured from Arunachal Pradesh and was on its way to be delivered to a client at Imphal (Manipur). Case in this connection has been registered with Khuzama Police Station the arrested person kept under custody for conducting further investigation.
