Sumi Missionary Conference (SMC) was held its 5th biennial session from April 24-26 at United Baptist Churches Association Mission Center, (UBCAMC) Kothakuthi, Goalpora, Assam, on the theme ‘Mission in present context.’
During the session, gospel message was shared by Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Executive Secretary, SBAK Aizuto; Rev. Dr. Joshua Rochil; and Director Sumi Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Khehovi Shohe. The conference was held under the supervision of Sumi Baptist Convention (SBC) and attended by four missions of the Sumi Baptist Association namely SBAK Aizuto, SBAK Nito Mount, SABAK Pughoboto and WSBAK Akuvuto, Dimapur.
The main highlights of the programme were power point presentations on mission activities in the different fields and critical deliberations on the topic ‘Envisioning long term mission’, ‘Mission as empowerment,’ and ‘Delving into new missiological avenues.’
The programme was sponsored by United Revival Fellowship (URF), Dimapur Unit, and attended by Sumi missionaries working in various mission fields in India. SBC and SMF have expressed gratitude to URF Dimapur Unit for hosting the programme, the participants, the churches for their financial contributions and the prayer supports by the believers.
The next Sumi Missionary Fellowship conference would be hosted by SABAK Mission Center, Pughoboto. It has also elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2015-2017 with Piketo Yeptho as president, Avito Chophy as vice president, Kalibo Zhimo as general secretary, Hokato Aye as assistant general secretary, Atoholi Zhimo as treasurer, Kaboto Kinimi as organizing secretary and Yeshika Sumi as statistical secretary.
