In protest against the killing of a lawyer by police at the court premises in Allahabad March 11, the Dimapur Bar Association (DBA) has directed all its members of to abstain from attending court works on March 16.
In a press release, DBA general secretary A.Hukavi Zhimomi said the directive was in compliance with the order issued by the Bar council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Bar Council of India has demanded that the culprit be arrested immediately and judicial enquiry be conducted within two months.
