Continuing its efforts to assist the local people, 19 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 5 Sector Assam Rifles, distributed 100 plastic chairs to Panchayat Hall, Meriema village in Kohima on January 31. The distribution of 100 plastic chairs was the initiative of headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles under Civic Action Programme Project. In a separate programme, 37 Assam Rifles under the aegis of headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles distributed and installed solar street lights at Tseiphema village in Dimapur district on March 10. AR statement state that it had decided to install solar and street light to the village since Tseiphema village lacked adequate street lights and electricity supply. Four solar street lights were installed at the village.
