One pedestrian was killed in a road accident involving a truck (MN-03T-0617) at D Box cutting junction, Kohima NH-29 around 8:30 a.m. October 19. The victim identified as Anrul Islam (28) s/o Mana Miya Laskar, hailing from Kaptanpur village of Lakhimpur district Assam, was rushed to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, where he was declared dead. The accused driver one Sinam Ibochou (32) from Mayang leikai Imphal west was under the custody of North Police station for further investigation. The truck was heading towards Dimapur from Manipur. Accident reportedly occurred due to technical failure while going down in the steep road.
