As per the order received from the addl. district magistrate, Sivasagar, Cr.P.C U/S 144 night curfew has been imposed for a period of 60 (Sixty) days from October 10 within the 5 km belt of Assam side bordering Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh from 6.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. According to a DIPR report, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung through SDO (C) Vekhoyi Chakesang has informed that the curfew has been imposed in Assam side as a precautionary measure against various “anti-social elements and unlawful activities”. However, security personnel and civil officials deployed in the area have been exempted from the purview of this prohibitory order, said the report.
