Third Annual North East Region Cultural Competition organised by Dimapur Bangali Samaj at the premises of Sree Sree Ram Thakur Sevashram, Railway colony concluded September 21.
The occasion was graced by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Khekaho Assumi as chief guest and Dimapur District Citizen Forum (DDCF) president Joseph Lemtur as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest said Bengalis had a rich tradition of promoting such kind of cultural activities and was delighted to be a part of the function.
Participants from various parts of the north east took part in the competition. There were 450 participants in categories like songs, music, dance, drama and painting etc.
Further messages from Governor of Meghalaya, Governor of Nagaland, Chief Minister of Nagaland, Chief Minister of Assam, Parliamentary Secretary Tovihoto Ayemi and Secretary Surnandan Bharti wished the programme success. Dimapur Bangali Samaj general secretary Uttam Dey said its endeavour was to serve the society, saying till date samaj has been doing relief work, education service, donating cloths etc.
Meanwhile, Siddhartha Professional Academy, Dimapur has announced 50% scholarship for students willing to pursue any kind of Information Training courses offered by the Institute.
