‘Basic foundation and functional Course’ training held in Kiphire

Two day training on “Basic foundation and functional Course” for a VCMs, VDBs, GBs and women member under BRGF was held on March 14-15 at Hopongkyu memorial hall Kiphire. The programme was sponsored by State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Nagaland Kohima and organized by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Kiphire.
Speaking at the programme, deputy commissioner Kiphire Neposo Theluo said that the Kiphire was one of the fortunate districts as it has been granted BRGF in the village levels. Highlighting the importance of financial management, the deputy commissioner asked the gathering to use money judiciously for the benefit of the village. He also acknowledged the SIRD and DRDA department Kiphire for organizing such programme in the district.  The deputy commissioner Kiphire also asked village leaders to maintain law and order in their respective villages for peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha elections.
Resource person for the programme were EAC Kiphire Benjamin, Vizol Kera BM State Cooperative bank Kiphire, Ali Area Coordinator NRLM and ToTs BRGF. Topic such as objectives and salient features of BRGF, sensitization on child labour issue, issues on women empowerment, financial management, accounting and auditing system, community awarness on disaster management, social audit under MGNREGA, VFB model rule were taught in the programme. 
The programme was chaired by Likhumba Sangtam course director while welcome speech was delivered by programme Officer DRDA Kiphire. The programme was attended by BDOs  and DRDA officials Kiphire. More than 250 participants attended the programme.
