Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Murohu Chotso Saturday appealed to the members of Longkhum Lanur Telongjem (LLT) and Longkhum Village Council (LVC) to call off the agitation (road blockade) in the interest of the general public. In a press release, DC said “every right thinking citizens of the state have sympathy and moral support to the victim, the clan and the victim’s family” and appealed LVC and LLT office bearers to call off the agitation, in order “to continue to receive the sympathy and moral support of the public”.
“To dispose this case, wisdom of the court is sought at an early date so that the aggrieved community may also be satisfied,” DC said. Pointing out that the incident (Nungshilila murder) “occurred in Dimapur and not within Mokokchung district”, DC said as per police department report, investigation was completed and four accused chargesheeted. However, to substantiate the criminal offences, CFSL report was still awaited, DC added.
DALT expresses solidarity
While expressing solidarity with the Longkhum Lanur Telongjem (LLT), the Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DALT) also urged LLT to lift the ongoing indefinite road blockade in the interest of the general public.
In a press release DALT president K. Longri Imchen and general secretary Chitenlemba assured all possible support to Longkhum Lanur Telongjem and all concerned till the justice delivered.
Meanwhile, expressing dismay, DALT said that the reason for the delay of the forensic report from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Kolkata due to non availability of the chemical reagent was not at all convincing.
DALT urged the investigating agency to give extra effort so as to expedite the process of legal course and deliver justice without any further delay.
