Kohima Municipal Council informs wards on temporary dumping site

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all wards under its jurisdiction that temporary dumping site has been arranged at Zogazou P’khel, on the way to Rüsoma Village, w.e.f. February 15. 
In a press release, Kohima Municipal Council stated that it has worked out certain conditions for strict supervision and monitoring by panchayats and sanitation committees.

1. Wards vehicles should dump the garbage at the designated site only and not on the roadside leading to the temporary dumping site.
2. All ward vehicles should be properly covered as there have been many complains earlier, regarding littering of waste from the vehicles.
3. Road leading to the new dumping site has many diversions; therefore, Kohima Municipal Council will be putting up road signs.
4. Collection of firewood or any forest product is strictly prohibited. Defaulters will be sternly penalized and action taken.
5. All ward sanitary vehicles shall report to the Kohima Municipal Council Toll Gate near BSF Camp. This will be mandatory for every trip.
6. If any complaint  is received against a ward sanitary vehicle, Kohima Municipal Council will seize the vehicle and stop the concern ward to dump its garbage at the designated site.
