Phushito Aye, a progressive bamboo farmer who was conferred with bamboo award in the category of best plantation on the occasion of 4th World Bamboo Day celebrated by Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre (NBRC), 6th Mile Dimapur, under the theme “Building Lives” attributed his success in bamboo farming of his village to late T. Norman Putsure, the then team leader of Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency and his sub-ordinates.
Thanking the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency for recognizing his accomplishment in bamboo plantation, Phushito Aye said whatever his village achieved, was because leadership of the departed officer and his team members who assisted him in development of bamboo in Phushito village and even after his death, the village continues to remember his good works, which would be recorded in the history of the village.
Phushito said there were seven varieties of bamboo ready to be harvested and to be supplied including saplings plantation and raw materials for handicraft making.
