Tohanba condoles: Parliamentary secretary CAWD R. Tohanba has expressed grief over the demise of T. Lakiumong Yimchungeron, who passed away at Guwahati November 27. In his condolence message, Tohanba said late Lakiumong was born at Chessore village, Tuensang, the second son of Thsanshimong Yimchunger, and served as headmaster at Christian High School, Shamator (YBBA) and the first person from the Yimchunger tribe to receive M.Th., LLM. At the time of his demise, late Lakiumong was serving as associate professor at Leonard Theological College, Jaipalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Neiba Ndang: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Nagaland president Neiba Ndang has mourned the demise of Azu Newmai and said “It is really disheartening that we have lost such a tall leader.”
In his condolence message, NCP) Nagaland president described Azu Newmai as “a man of integrity, great courage and a visionary,” and stated that In Newmai’s death, the Zeliang people in particular and the Nagas in general have lost one of its ablest and senior most leader.
Ndang extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed his soul rest in peace.
AZSU (AMN): All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU), AMN, has mourned the demise of former minister Azu Newmai, who passed away November 26 at Kohima.
In a condolence message, union general secretary Nchaheing described Azu of Ntuma village as “an active social worker”, who represented the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Tening A/C in 1969 and 1974.
AZSU (AMN) further stated he was a true leader who stood and served for the rights and welfare of the Zeliangrong community in different capacities in the social and political fields and was holding the post of president, ZPO, till his demise.
It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.
ZSUK condoles: Zeliang Students’ Union Kohima expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of ZPO president Azu Newmai. In a condolence message, ZSUK president Suiranglungbe Iralu said late Newmai’s work for the welfare of the people, especially the Zeliangs, would always remain a source of inspiration. ZSUK also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
