Phek district planning & development board meeting was held on December 10 and was chaired by deputy commissioner Phek, Nikhashe Sema.
The meeting began with a brief report on the department activities of PWD (R&B) Phek division by executive engineer PWD (R&B) Phek Division Er. Abija Khing.
He gave a highlight on the various important road projects presently being undertaken in the district, adding that development activities in the field of road infrastructure and rural connectivity has been judiciously implemented to benefit the local populace.
DPDB members agreed to recommend the proposal for up-gradation of government primary school Komuno Khezhakeno village to government middle school under SSA scheme.
Mokokchung: Members of Mokokchung district planning and development board (DPDB) deliberated on the need to ensure timely release of salaries to employees in the district in its monthly meeting in the DC conference hall on December 7.
At the discussions members expressed view that many often, staff were forced to visit bank/ATM booth to draw their salaries resulting in irregular attendance at work and those government servants posted in the villages were forced to stay for days at Mokokchung for days for their salaries.
In this regard, it was decided that DC and vice chairman of DPDB and senior administration officers will conduct a meeting with SBI officials at the earliest for a solution.
The meeting chaired, by DC Murohu Chotso also decided to deduct 1% from LADP funds for verification/implementing committee. Proposal for introduction of six new trades at ITI Mokokchung to further skill up-gradation among the youth.
After considering suggestions put forward by some of the members, it was decided to include cobbler and barber in the proposed trades for introduction.
Setting up of Juvenile Home in Mokokchung, up-gradation of GMS Sabangya to GHS and upgradation and shifting of Grace English School Kangtsung to Tuli were also approved at the meeting.
Assistant labour commissioner, Mokokchung, Imli explained the members on implementation of the enforcement of levy and collection of cess for the purpose of the building and other construction workers.
Meanwhile, DC released a book, Ao customary Law: A study authored and published by P. Lipok Jamir, district education officer, Mokokchung during the meeting.
