Naga National Council (NNC) has appealed to all the Naga people especially the ‘National Workers’ to solemnly observe the ‘Naga National Martyrs’ Day’ October 18 with prayer and respect.
In a press release, NNC information and publicity wing said Naga people should never forget the ‘National Martyrs’ Day’ as Naga people and nation become well known politically in the world because of the Naga martyrs’ sacrificial deeds.
“Those who laid down their lives for the Naga freedom should be honoured and pay due respect on the national day of ours for their noble deeds for the Naga nation and their sacrificial deeds will never go in vain,” stated the release.
Further, NNC information and publicity wing stated that the present generation should remember and observe the Day as a “National duty of respect and honour to the National heroes as they gave their all for the freedom of the Naga people in particular.”
Mezoma village to observe ‘Naga national martyrs day’
Meanwhile, Mezoma village would also observe Naga national martyrs day on October 18, 10 a.m. at martyrs’ park, Mezoma Rev. Zhiwhuotho Katiry, pastor, Pochury Baptist Church Kohima will unveil the monolith. Captain Vikhoyazo Kehie will call the roll of honours, and 15 minutes speeches will be delivered by Darülie Krose, Thenucho Tunyi and Kaka D Iralu respectively.
The organizers have therefore requested all the citizens of Mezoma and well wishers to participate and pay tribute to the “heroic martyrs’”.
