Dimapur Government College bids farewell to outgoing faculty member

Dimapur Government College (DGC), on August 4, organized a farewell program for Dr. K N Singh, HoD of History, retiring on voluntary basis.

A press release from DGC publicity and media committee stated that in his farewell speech, Dr. Singh shared snippets of his life and career. Born in a Hindu family in Varanasi, he began his search for God early on in life and after deliberating various career options, he joined Phek College as a lecturer in the year 1989 when it was still a private college. 

His search for a deeper fulfillment and meaning resulted in encounters with God which ultimately led him to work in full time ministry. Presently he is helping out a small church in Assam.

The program was chaired by Meripeni Ngully from the department of History. A student expressed appreciation for the retiring teacher followed by special number from students. 

Farewell speeches were delivered by Kavili Jakhalu, principal of DGC; Ningshijungla Longchar,  assistant professor of History; Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, assistant professor, on behalf of DGCTA; and Neiketu Siam, librarian.

The retiring officer was given gifts by the principal’s office and DGCTA. Dr. K N Singh & family also gave gifts to the college as well as the Evangelical Union of DGC. 

A special prayer for Dr. K.N Singh was pronounced by A. Sentiyula, assistant professor of English. He is married to a Naga lady, Aphune, from the Chakesang tribe, and is blessed with 2 daughters.
