The general body meeting of the Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) was held at Bethesda Children Home at Walford, Dimapur on August 15. Thirty-nine members from the Baptist, NCRC, Assembly of God, Catholic Church and other Christian ministries of Dimapur attended the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the functioning of CFD, and elect a new leadership team as well as to identify areas of intervention for the next three years.
According to a press release by secretary, CDF, Fr. Chacko Karinthayil, the new leadership team consists of: pastor Moses Murry as chairman, Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu as vice chairman, Fr. Dr. C P Anto as general secretary, Rev Wungo Chingmak as assistant general secretary and pastor Pekrusetuo Angami as the treasurer.
Earlier, the assembly deliberated on the selection of the new office bearers and agreed to select a nomination committee to decide on the members of the new leadership. Rev P Dozo, Rev Tenga Sep, Rev N Paphino, pastor Moses Murry, along with Rev R P Murry and Fr Chacko Karinthayil, the present office bearers were selected as the members of the Selection Committee.
The activity report of the CFD was presented by secretary, CDF, Fr. Chacko Karinthayil followed by the financial report presented by treasurer, CDF, Rev. Thebemo Lotha. This was followed by a business hour. The release further added that the outgoing chairman Rev R P Murry thanked the different churches of Dimapur for their whole-hearted cooperation to the endeavors of the forum.
Rev R P Murry chaired the meeting, chairman, Dimapur Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship, Rev Tenga Sep, pronounced the invocation, assistant secretary of the forum, Rev Yecto Chopy proposed the vote of thanks and president, NCR, Rev N Paphino offered the benediction prayer.
