PTYS organizes first aid training seminar

Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) along with 11 colony youth presidents and volunteers held a seminar-&-first aid training, organized by District Hospital Phek on September 8, at District Hospital premises.

A press release from PTYS press secretary, Kedupa Venuh stated that Dr. Ngopelo physician, elucidated on resuscitation, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and how to act in response to bleeding and wounds, bites and stings, burns, poisoning, etc. He explained vital temporary assistance measures that could be administered until competent medical care was obtained. He also said that one should be watchful while applying first aid to an injured person because it may mean the difference between life and death or rapid recovery and long term hospitalization.

Dr. Senilo Tep psychiatrist, spoke on giving first aid to victims of bone fractures and dislocations and how to aid injured victims.

Dr. Wethselo pediatrician informed the attendees about the 24×7 emergency service opened by the hospital and the staff who were trying to give their best services to the general public. He also requested the youth to continue supporting ground management during emergencies. 

Earlier, Dr. Tiala Longkumer gave the welcome note and Suyiengoyi Soho, vice president of PTYS, pronounced the vote of thanks.
