Seyochung Village Government Employees Union, Kiphire District (SVGEUKD) undertook a cleaning drive at the new District Hospital building of Kiphire, along with staff of the hospital, on November 3.
A press release from SVGEUKD president, Alipa Sangtam stated that more than 70 SVGEUKD members joined in on the cleaning drive which concentrated on general surfaces like floors, walls, corridors, stairs, bathrooms and toilets of the hospital. Others dug up temporary waste pits and cleared the weeds around the hospital compound.
SVGEUKD appealed to the patients and visitors to help keep the hospital neat and tidy by disposing of any kind of litter thoughtfully. It also urged the general public to continually keep the hospital tidy and clean the hospital so that a healthy environment could be maintained to comfort patients and also prevent and reduce adverse human health hazards.
