Apollo Munich Health Insurance, one of the leading standalone health insurers, has been awarded the health insurance mandate of Nagaland state under the world’s largest health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat— National Health Protection Mission (NHPM).
The insurer kick started the scheme in Nagaland along with state chief minister Neiphiu Rio at a ceremony conducted by the state government.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Srikanth Kandikonda, chief finance officer of Apollo Munich Health Insurance said that the company was excited to work with the government on Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) for the state of Nagaland. He said that company was committed to improve the healthcare ecosystem of the state.
He said that Apollo Munich Health Insurance, which was earlier involved in the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) scheme from Nagaland, is familiar with the healthcare ecosystem and, therefore, will give the company an edge to understand the regional healthcare requirement and thereby execute better.
“We are sure our expertise in the health insurance market will immensely benefit the state and its people,” said Kandikonda.
Under the NHPS programme in Nagaland, the company will cover around 2.7 lakh families (approximately 11 lakh individuals). The cover will include hospitalisation including both pre and post treatments and maternity benefit.
