Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) has affirmed that the lockdown of offices of district education officer (DEO) and sub-divisional education officer (SDEO) in Tuensang would continue.
In a statement, CCSU general secretary, C Pongsu, stated that the offices would remain locked until their demands were met.
CCSU has demanded immediate retention of downgraded government high schools (GHSs) including GHS Chingmei and GHS Noksen. It has demanded the education department to give written assurance. On Sunday, the union had stated that they were forced to resort to such a step as the ultimatum served on the department concerned went unanswered till date.
