Philately quiz competition in Tuensang

Loyem Memorial High School (LMHS), Tuensang conducted a Philately (the study and collection of postage stamps) quiz competition on January 31, which was organized by the department of Posts: India, Nagaland Division. A late press release stated that before the competition took off, postal assistant Moin Uddin, gave a brief introduction about philately and its origins. He exhorted the students as well as teachers to motivate children to learn more about the Indian Postal system, stamps, and services.

More than 50 students took part in the competition out of which eight students were selected for the prizes: Imitsonan, C. Yongkai Wongto Phom and Muwari Sangtam bagged the first, second and third positions respectively. Moungsenti Chang, Samson Kaimo Khiamniungan, Imnenongba and Prodip Tacha received the consolation prize.
Meanwhile school principal Debashish Deb, thanked Moin Uddin, and teacher in charge Chekpongyongya Phom for organizing the competition for the welfare of students and urged the students to participate in more such competitions in coming days.
