Nagaland Parents’ Association for the Disabled (NAPAD) visited Mental Hospital Kohima to commemorate the NAPAD’s 9th foundation day, on March 14.
A press release from the NAPAD president stated that state commissioner for disability Nagaland, Deithono Nakro congratulated members of the NAPAD on reaching its 9th year of existence. She conveyed appreciation for the noble deeds of the association and the generous services that it has been rendering to society since its inception.
She opined that a lot more has to be done when it comes to the issue of disability in the state of Nagaland. Deithono encouraged the NAPAD members to continue working even more for PWDs. She also laid emphasis on the need for the office of the commissioner for disability and all concerned NGOs to work together hand in hand, and assured the gathering that her office doors were always open to all stakeholders.
Medical superintendent MHIK, Dr. Wapang, welcomed everyone to the program. He also congratulated the NAPAD on its anniversary. Dr. Wapang then highlighted manpower strength, infrastructural condition and activities of the MHIK.
The NAPAD president presented reading materials and books to Deithono Nakro and MS MHIK.
The program was chaired by Dr. Tali Imsong, who highlighted a brief history of the NAPAD’s formation and its activities. Sanen Amer offered the invocation and the program concluded with a mass prayer.
