
In separate operations, two suspected NSCN (I-M) hideouts were destroyed by Assam Rifles on Sunday in Changlang in Arunachal Pradesh, Defence PRO col. C. Konwer stated in a press note.
Based on specific inputs, PRO said AR personnel along with police destroyed two hideouts, one in Jongrum and the other near the Indo Myanmar border.
The troops also recovered heavy cache of arms including AK series Rifle, ammunition and other war like stores from these hideouts.
According to reports, these camps were used as temporary transit camp by NSCN cadres.
“Security forces are conducting sustained operations against the insurgent groups active in the region providing the much needed sigh of relief and confidence to the locals,” PRO stated.
The operation was part of the ongoing crackdown by Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps on insurgent organisations active in South Arunachal Pradesh.
