State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) hiked the prices of petrol and diesel for the second consecutive day on Saturday across major cities of the country.

Petrol price was raised by 14-16 paise per litre while the diesel price went up by 7-8 paise per litre.
In Dimapur, a litre of petrol and diesel was Rs.72.86 and Rs.63.77 respectively while in Kohima, petrol was retailing at Rs.71.67 per litre and diesel price stood at Rs.64.40.
Currently, OMCs review the domestic prices of petrol and diesel on a daily basis, and any changes – determined broadly by the global crude oil prices and the foreign exchange rates – are effected at the fuel stations at 6 am. For the first time in over a month, OMCs increased petrol and diesel prices by 9-10 paise across major cities on Friday.
