IAH Noklak conducts AYUSH free health camp

Integrated AYUSH Hospital (IAH) Noklak conducted AYUSH free health-cum-awareness camp at Lengnyu village, Noklak on November 9.  

A press release from IAH Noklak stated that,  speaking at the health camp, Dr. Amongba Lima, MO, IAH Noklak, stressed that the relevance of AYUSH has become more now as AYUSH medicines were being used as a standalone option or in addition with bio medicine in the long term diseases.  These systems are based on definite medical philosophies and represent a way of healthy living with established concepts on prevention of diseases and promotion of health, he added.

Speaking on the topic “Homeopathy-a complete system of medicine,” Dr. Imkongchiba, residential medical officer, IAH Noklak, explained that homeopathic medicines are aimed at improving the level of health by stimulating the self-regulatory mechanism. 

Patients unable to use conventional prescription drugs due to side effects can often safely use homeopathic medicines, he said and added that homeopathic treatment can achieve results which would be considered impossible with conventional treatment. 

Dr. Imkongchiba asserted that the quality and safety standards are assured by the national medicine agencies based on European Union legislation and European Pharmacopoeia requirements. 

Metsoi, assistant matron also spoke about common diseases and how to prevent oneself from it. The medical team comprised of Dr. Imkongchiba, Dr. Amongba Lima, Metsoi, assistant matron, staff nurses, Watepiu Khalo, Mushem, Laam T, and Athong T Y, medicine dispensers, Kekhriesalhou, and Aketo Swu and lab technician Swuduvelu Theyo. 

Altogether 140 patients were provided free health tests and medicines in the AYUSH camp.
