Voters Party International (VPI), a movement for global change of economy based on votership launched a training programme initiated by founder and policy director of VPI, Vishwantma Bharat Gandhi from Delhi on Tuesday at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur.

Speaking to Nagaland Post, the founder stated that he hopes to introduce Nagas about the “new dimensions of democracy”. “The present democracy is only used by the politicians and it is confined within one or two percent population so democracy should be inclusive”, Bharat Gandhi said.

During the four-day training programme, the founder will be imparting the participants from various districts about the modus operandi to make democracy inclusive. He added that Nagas are competent and believed that they could become “good motivators” “to educate people in order to create awareness and new renaissance which are needed today in the age of globalisation”.

Gandhi hopes to change the definition of nationhood, citizenship, separation of power and add a new dimension of economic democracy in the present political democracy.

It may be noted that the movement was formed to see the global root of maximum local problems perpetuated in every country of the world and that without global effort, global code of conduct or global government, most common problems could not be resolved.

The training programme which will culminate on March 13 will address the need of economy and political reform as well as the importance of global alliance of trusts, NGO’s and political parties. The first day of the training programme was attended by 200 participants.
