Poshan pakhwada, 2nd anniversary of national nutrition was celebrated at Government Middle School (GMS) sector ‘B’ Jalukie town on March 16 organised by department of Social Welfare Jalukie.
According to DIPR report, CDPO Jalukie Namhuheing said that poshan pakhwada was launched by department of Social Welfare to create momentum and sensitise masses towards the adoption of nutritional behaviour at community and schools level. He said that integrated child development services (ICDS) was a government programme which provides food, preschool education, primary health care, immunisation health check-ups, provides scholarships to handicapped, etc. He encouraged students to take the right nutrition for good health and to acquire more knowledge in order to compete with others physically and mentally.
Meanwhile, poshan coordinator, Pauram Zeliang demonstrated hand washing to students while poshan pledge was administered by Keyisamzaile, AWW.
Earlier, programme was chaired by Ilungba, AWW and vote of thanks was delivered by Igwetzeule, AWW.
