Dimapur Urban Colonies Chairmen’s Federation (DUCCF) has appealed to the state government allot a special fund to the federation under any urban or disaster management scheme to take care of the 95 colonies with 3 lakh population under urban Dimapur and to strengthen the hands of the government/district administration.

DUCCF chairman Tsanthungo Nyamo and general secretary Zasivikho Zakiesato said that many colony chairmen and GBs have been facing intolerable difficulties by taking care of the management of relief for the poor and daily wage earners.

Unlike VDB scheme, DUCCF said there was no budget for urban colonies during such crisis. Instead, they said all colonies were running relief assistance on free will donations.

A joint memorandum was also submitted to the district administration on March 30, 2020 by Naga Council Dimapur, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, GB Sardar Union Dimapur (Urban) and Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU), highlighting the issues of the colonies.
