Control Center Nagaland House (CCNH) New Delhi, which has been set up to support and assist Nagas in Delhi, has reassured the parents and families in Nagaland that no efforts would be spared to ensure that Naga people in Delhi NCR are provided timely support and assistance as and when needed.
In a press release, Nagaland House, New Delhi, PRO, Kuolie Mere, informed that the Chief Minister Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio through the CMRF has already sanctioned Rs.4, 00,000, in two phases, to Nagaland House New Delhi. The release stated that the money was being “optimally utilized to ensure that our people do not go hungry”.
After the Janta Curfew on March 22, PRO said on receiving report of 10 stranded passengers from Nagaland, a control center was setup after a meeting on March 23.
PRO said government of Nagaland through the office of the Resident Commissioner, New Delhi has been extending assistance to students/working persons and patients including stranded passengers from Nagaland. Till date, the CCNH has rescued 13 stranded passengers and provided food and shelter at Nagaland House.
The release informed that CCNH has been extending assistance in the form of dry rations to people from the state directly as well as through NGOs, after being crossed checked by respective tribal units.
It said there has been tremendous support from Naga elders, Pastors and student unions, Delhi Police and NGOs in Delhi. CCNH has appreciated the partnership of various Naga Student bodies, Delhi Police (SPUNER), tribal bodies, Naga elders and unit churches/fellowships in Delhi in the collective effort to reach out to “brothers and sisters in need” in Delhi NCR.
PRO informed that doctors and nurses from Nagaland, working at various hospitals in Delhi NCR, have been extending timely support to Nagas, even beyond their call of duty.
