‘World Environment Day’ observed in Nagaland

Various schools and organisations celebrated “World Environment Day” under the theme, “celebrate biodiversity” across the state along with the rest of the world on June 5. 

DUCCF: DUCCF observed “World Environment Day” (WED) at Forest Colony, Dimapur on June 5. A press release from DUCCF stated that, DFO and staff were present on the occasion. DUCCF led by president Tsenthungo Nyamo, distributed tree saplings to all council chairmen of urban colonies of Dimapur. 

Government schools in Tuensang: Government schools across five EBRC Hakushang, Noksen, Longkhim, Shamator and Noklak, under District Mission Authority, Samagra Shiksha, observed the day by planting tree saplings in and around school premises. A press release from DMA SS Tuensang project assistant, A. Lakhum Yimchunger stated that, beautification of roads, drawing and painting were also conducted in various schools, where more than 6500 youths and eco club members participated.
