ZSUN rally in Peren on Jun 10

Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has announced holding a peaceful rally in Peren district on June 10, 2020 to demand “exemplary action” against those responsible for sending a COVID positive patient to Peren on June 3, 2020 incident and also in support of the representation submitted by joint action committee (JAC) on COVID-19 Peren district.

In a press release, ZSUN president Dithuibo Newmai and general secretary Adona Herie has cautioned that any untoward incident arising in future as a result of state government’s “brazen negligence” towards the people of Peren district, the government would be fully held responsible. 

The union expressed disappointment over state government’s inaction against the “perpetrators” of the unfortunate June 3, 2020 incident.

ZSUN also stated that government has turned a blind eye to the representation JAC Peren—a conglomeration of NGOs, tribal bodies and Church organisations. “This speaks volume of the government’s seriousness in taking the demands and wishes of the public of Peren district,” ZSUN stated.
