Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has said that despite state government spending huge amount of money even for quarantine centres, there was shortage of quarantine centres in all the districts especially Kohima and Dimapur.
In a press release, NVCO president Kezhokhoto Savi has appealed to the individuals, institutions, NGOs, civil society groups, tribal hohos and village organisations, who had already availed ‘public fund’ amounting to Rs.16049.81 lakh to come forward and offer their hostels, institutions, tribal halls, guest houses, lodges, cultural centres, multipurpose buildings, youth centres, working women hostels, EMRS etc, to be used for quarantine.
In case none come forward, Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation said the state government should set up an enquiry committee to physically verify the said properties/projects.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation said that a crucial time has come to do ‘the check and balance’ to build state economy, human resources, infrastructural development, etc.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation also stated said that a time has come for every citizen to contribute in the fight against the deadly COVID-19 and appealed every citizen to remain alert and strictly follow the guidelines so as not to spread the virus to community.
