In view of the sinking road at Old KMC dumping site along the stretch of National Highway– 29, the Kohima police have enforced new traffic regulations till further order.
According to Kohima police PRO, all light vehicles going down towards Dimapur from Kohima and vice-versa would be diverted to Jotsoma by-pass road, adding that no heavy vehicles, buses and commercial pickup vehicles would be allowed to ply on that route.
Kohima police informed that heavy vehicles (four/six/ten wheelers), buses, commercial pickup vehicles coming up towards Kohima from Dimapur would be diverted to Peducha-10th Mile– Tsiesema route from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Police also said that all ten wheelers and above heavy vehicles, trailers going up towards Kohima from Dimapur would be stopped at Peducha till the effected stretch at NH – 29 was restored.
Further, police informed that heavy vehicles, buses, commercial pickup vehicles going down towards Dimapur from Kohima would take Tsiesema-10th Mile-Peducha route.
