NSCN (I-M) has condemned the “selective war mongering” reportage by a national daily under the headline “NSCN-IM: Nagas ready for fresh ‘war’”.

NSCN (I-M) said that the report had sensationalised one particular sentence from the Nagalim Voice August 2020 editorial: “They are still ready to fight another war if their political rights and history are not respected”.

NSCN(I-M) has put on record that it stood for peaceful solution of the Indo-Naga political issue and that was the reasons how the second “Indo-Naga” ceasefire was brought about in 1997.

It however expressed regret that the Government of India (GoI) failed to demonstrate the desired sincerity and commitment despite 23 years of peace talks adding this was the crux of the ongoing talks.

NSCN(I-M) has therefore, asked the Centre to revisit the hard-earned achievements in the “Indo-Naga” peace process and push forward towards the desired direction to bring a solution that is honourable and acceptable to both the parties.
