IAPNB celebrates ‘World Physiotherapy Day’

Indian Association of Physiotherapist Nagaland Branch (IAPNB) celebrated World Physiotherapy Day (WPD) along with rest of the world on September 8. 

A press release by IAPNB, stated that WPD celebrated under the theme “Focus on rehabilitation and COVID-19” started with virtual presidential address from central IAP president. Various webinars were conducted by respective state branches covering topics ranging from “rehabilitation after COVID-19” by IAP, Bihar, “Role of physiotherapist in COVID ERA- physical and psychological perspective” by IAP Puducherry, “Rehabilitation strategies following COVID 19”, by IAP Karnataka, panel discussion on “Physiotherapy- a key to recovery from COVID-19” by IAP Maharashtra, which stressed on the importance and role of physiotherapy in COVID rehabilitation. 
It also stated that the day marked the unity and solidarity of global physiotherapy community, and with the ongoing pandemic, its profession was uniquely placed to step up and contribute to the challenge and help the most vulnerable patients regain independence and quality of life.
Physiotherapists working in healthcare facilities were most likely to have role in management of patients admitted to hospital with confirmed or suspected COVID-19. 
IAPNB stressed on global pandemic scenario and role of physiotherapist in acute hospital wards and ICUs.
