Advisor of technical education and election, Medo Yhokha inaugurated the recently renovated approach road of Jakhama village, about 13 km away from Kohima city on May 3. A stretch of the approach road from Jakhama entry gate to Phema Khel was funded by Yhokha.
The advisor expressed happiness, stating that the same was made possible with the cooperation extended by the villagers while speaking at a function held at Yedikha in the village.
He said it was because of the state “chief minister’s love and concern for the village”, that the road was renovated as sheer necessity through additional grant.
Medo Yhokha emphasised on good leadership and effective governance especially at a time when Nagas were at a challenging stage.
He further reminded the villagers to do away with differences while hoping that unity, peace and love would continue to persist among the villagers.
The overall renovation of the road was monitored by Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima region president Avio Tetso and Zopovil Zao, PA to Medo Yhokha who were both from the village.
Jakhama Village Council (JVC) chairman, Zhopo Richa acknowledged the advisor for his support and assistance towards the road renovation.
Expressing concern over the fact that road surfaces deteriorated mostly during rainy season, Richa requested Yhokha to renovate the drainage system along their approach road so that it would last longer.
He also briefed about the landslide which occurred in the middle of the village and sought Medo’s help to do the needful.
Meanwhile, Medo also took note of the overhead power lines crossing through Yedikha was posing a threat to the villagers.
