
Along with the rest of the Christians worldwide, Christians in Nagaland celebrated Easter Sunday, also known as Resurrection Sunday, with special church services. Easter Sunday commemorates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death.
St. Francis Church: St Francis Xavier Catholic Church observed Easter Vigil 2021 with candlelight procession led by Reverend Father Siby John, Parish Priest from Ezalo to Church premises on April 3.
On Easter Sunday, administrator of MSW College Dimapur Rev. Father John Poji asked the faithful to be joyful and at peace as Christ resurrected from death. He asked them to spread love, joy and happiness wherever they go.
He said the risen Lord conquered the evil and forgave the people’s sin. He then urged the faithful to walk and manifest in the light of Christ.
Father Poji also called upon the people to give their burden to risen Jesus who overcame death.
In the homily, Fr Siby John recalled St Paul hope, faith and love for the Christian life. The light of Christ was the divine light for those who believed, he added.
Baptism, renewal of baptism, blessing of holy water, sprinkle of holy water to faithful, sacrament of reconciliation with God, blessing of new fire, reading the words of God, enchanting of Gloria, Eucharist celebration, renewal of baptism followed by fellowship meal were the highlights of the sacred feast days.
KLBC: Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church D.Block celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on Sunday at the Church premises.
In his message, Rev. Pastor N.Silubo Zeliang said Easter Sunday was a time to seek forgiveness and pray for love, joy and peace.
KCC Jalukie: Kuki Christian Church, Jalukie Town marked Good Friday – crucifixion of Jesus Christ and Eastern Sunday – resurrection of Jesus by organising a special programme.
On April 2, Good Friday was marked by Bible reading by the youth, choreography, songs, “lenkhom and love feast”.
Easter Sunday was marked with the baptism of the youth, special church services, words of encouragement from Pastorate Pastor, KCC Jalukie, Pastor Nehlal Simte and Holy Communion.
NCTS: New Creation Theological Seminary (NCTS) Dimapur celebrated Easter Sunday by visiting District Hospital Dimapur with gifts for the patients, doctors, nurses and staff.
CFD: The first Special Easter Sunday Fellowship of Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) was held on Sunday at Bethesda Assembly of God Church, Walford, Dimapur.
The service was led by pastor, Yanpemo Lotha and Rev. Moses Murry welcomed the members.
Fr. Chacko Karinthayil, Rev. Vangphong Phom, Esther Murry and pastor Thenjamo Tsanglao brought greetings and encouraged the members from the word of God.
Rev. T. Ariba blessed the offering while special song was presented by elders and children of Bethesda Assembly of God Church.
Fr. Dr.Anto pronounced the vote of thanks and Rev. R. P. Murry pronounced the benediction.
