No new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across the state on Tuesday while two patients recovered from the infection. As on April 6, the state’s total caseload stood at 12365 and 134 active cases.
H&FW reviews preparedness: In view of the impending second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department held a meeting at the directorate conference hall Tuesday to review the present status and assess the level of preparedness.
According to an official bulletin, the principal director H&FW, Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, who chaired the meeting, suggested that the department should be prepared in all power to fight the pandemic.
“With all the ample time to prepare for the first phase of COVID-19 there has been lots of loopholes and difficulties to combat. We have had a brief period of rest period but now it is time to prepare ourselves with our experience we had faced earlier,” Dr. Medikhru was quoted as saying.
At the meeting, state nodal officer IDSP, Dr. Nyan Kikon, gave presentation on the treatments and protocols of COVID-19 while state immunization officer Dr. Ritu Thur gave presentation on the overview of COVID vaccination.
All chief medical officers, medical superintendents and principal PMTI attended the meeting.
The district authorities presented consolidated district report on personal protection logistics, medical oxygen status, equipment status, logistics for COVID-19 testing: consumables, logistics for COVID-19 testing: equipment and status of drugs. The district officials also highlighted suggestion/action plan as per the 1st phase pandemic for the course of preparedness.
Meanwhile, till date a total of 98034 (71515 first dose and 26519 second dose) beneficiaries have been inoculated against COVID-19.
