Wokha Humtsoe Elumyo Senior Youth Welfare Forum (WHESWF) has condemned the “unprecedented raid” of the official residence of NSCN (I-M) kilonser, R. T. Tsanglao of Elumyo village on December 26 at Dimapur by the 32 Assam Rifles under the command of Colonel V. S. Pal.
In a condemnation note, WHESWF president, Tsenbomo P. Humtsoe and secretary, Renben Tsanglao stated that all concern should condemn the “unscrupulous act” of the Assam Rifles as such act was an “insult to the long cherished dream of the Nagas for permanent peace”.
WHESWF stated that the raid “without any rhyme or reason” has not only ruined the festive mood and the peaceful atmosphere in the state but has also hurt the sentiments of the “Naga freedom fighter and peace loving people”.
Further, WHESWF has asked the 32 Assam Rifles to desist from such “cowardly act” in the future and asked them to ascertain the fact properly before any action since such “irresponsible act would jeopardize the long nurtured peace talks between the centre and the Nagas”.
