
Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation (NZPO) in a virtual meeting on July 16 have decided to uphold the March 6, 2021 agreement made between the Zeliang Students’ Union and NZPO in the presence of Zeme Council and Liangmai council.
In a press statement, ZSUN media cell informed that a virtual meeting, which was also attended by NZPO general secretary, deliberated on the “contents of 6th March agreement” between ZSUN and NZPO.
The release claimed that NZPO general secretary clarified that the decision taken on March 6, 2021 was “clear and true for everyone” and that any NZPO against or opposing it was doing so at their personal level and does not represent the view of the organisation.
ZSUN informed that the two organisations on March 6 agreed to postpone the Zeliang Students’ Union convention scheduled on March 13, 2021. The convention was rescheduled after three months with effect from March 6, 2021 to July 6, 2021.
The release said acknowledging the Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland, the NZPO, agreed to extend the tenure of the official members of the interim body, Zeliang Students’ Union, for three months.
Meanwhile, ZSUN has requested the public especially its federating bodies not to be “confused and carried away by such mischievous propagandas meted out by some adversary leaders to tarnish the image of ZLSU in future”.
