Zunheboto town-based civil society organisations (CSOs) comprising of Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI), Zunheboto Town GB Association (ZTGBA), Consumer Rights Organisations Zunheboto (CROZ), Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU), Zunheboto Area Public Organisations (ZAPO) and Zunheboto Sumi Totimi Hoho (ZSTH) have unanimously resolved to ban any kind of taxation, donation or contributions within the town and markets during Christmas and New year season. This was resolved at a joint meeting of the organizations held on November 26.
In a letter addressed to deputy commissioner (DC) Zunheboto, ZCCI president Kikheto Muru, ZAPO president Kakugha S. Rotokha, ZSTH president Boholi Awomi, ZTGBA president Shihoto Zhimomi, CROZ president Anthony Aye and ZRSU president Nito Zhimomi expressed displeasure over the “confrontation of various incidents” on the issue of taxations and donations and urged for “an air of peace and calm during the festive season.”
