NSLSA observes ‘World Students’ Day’ in various districts

Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) observed “World Students’ Day” on October 16 in various districts.

In a press release NSLSA PRA Ketholeno Neihu informed that NSLSA observed the day, as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and legal services week in the District legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) focusing on “right to education act” in achieving quality and inclusive accessible education with legal literacy clubs, law students, schools, colleges among others.  

Dimapur DLSA conducted an awareness programme with City Law College, Dimapur students where panel lawyer Moatila Ao spoke on the right to education act and principal, CLC Leonard Aier delivered the welcome note. 

Altogether, 30 students attended the programme.

Kohima: Kohima DLSA celebrated the day at Kohima Law College where Vimeno highlighted the objectives and provision of right to education act. Advocate, Guwahati High Court, Kohima bench Toshi O Longkumer shared professional ethics and art of advocacy while panel lawyer Atila Pongen emphasised on legal services activities.

Phek: Phek DLSA organised a programme at Phek Government College where PGC assistant professor department of economics, Neiwe Mero spoke on the significance of the day, Phek DLSA and panel lawyer Thomeweu, Panel lawyer, spoke on right to education act, 2019. 40 students attended the programme. 

Zunheboto: Zunheboto DLSA observed the day with legal literacy club of St. Anthony School at St. Peter Hostel, Amphoto Colony. 

Project assistant Tovi Z Yeptho, emphasised on right to education and other basic legal rights and laws with regard to students.

Wokha: Wokha DLSA conducted an awareness programme and speech competition with Government High School Wozhuro and Green Valley School, Wozhuro. 

Para legal volunteer Zujano Kikon gave a talk on right to education, health & family welfare schemes. 

Judges of the competition were PLV Janbenthung Ngullie and Lokyoni Odyuo, teacher GHS, Wozhuro. 

Tuensang: Tuensang DLSA organised a programme at government primary school station ‘B’ Shamator. PLV Tsurito spoke on right to education. 

The programme was organised by PLV Thsangtong and Tsurito. Altogether 35 beneficiaries attended the programme.

Mokokchung: Mokokchung DLSA held a programme with Mokokchung Law College and also held an event for revamping the MLC legal services clinic. 

Para legal volunteers of the college were assigned for manning the said clinic. 

A beautification drive was carried out around the college campus by planting flowers and trees.
