SW deptt holds consultative meeting with DWOs and WIs

Department of Social Welfare (SW) held a consultative meeting with District Welfare Officers (DWOs) and Welfare Inspectors (WIs) on October 22 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.

A press release by the department stated that in a short speech, commissioner and secretary, Sarah R. Ritse said the department caters to the most vulnerable, the most sensitive and the most neglected section of the society. 

She also urged officers to keep close relationship with their respective district administration as the deputy commissioner’s involvement was necessary in implementation of various schemes in the districts. 

In a keynote address, director SW, Michael Zaren said the department takes care of the downtrodden people. 

He also highlighted various schemes and challenges faced by the department. 

A Power Point presentation was on various activities and programmes were highlighted by State Commissioner for Person with Disabilities, Programme manager for Elder Line and State Co-ordinator for State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), where district officers were briefed about their roles and responsibilities.   

The meeting also deliberated on payment of NSAP through PFMS and end-to-end digitization of various schemes implemented by the department. The programme was chaired by OSD, Tosheli Zhimomi.
