Minister of Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom on Tuesday inaugurated Static Soil Testing Laboratory (SSTL) at District Soil Conservation Office, Zunheboto.
A press release by district soil conservation officer, Zunheboto stated that the laboratory was established under Soil Health Management scheme of NMSA, a centrally sponsored scheme (CSS).
Delivering inaugural speech, Pangnyu stressed on the importance of soil and its resources for a productive and sustainable agriculture, and encouraged the department to judiciously operate the laboratory and render the best services to the farming community. The minister also inspected various equipments installed at the laboratory.
Earlier, DSCO, Hetoho Y. Swu welcomed the special guest and presented a technical report and background of the scheme. The minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Superintendent of Police Zunheboto and head of offices of Zunheboto.
