Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) on Monday felicitated the oldest man and woman in the colony by handing cash and shawls. The council handed Rs. 5000 each and shawls to Wozamo Odyuo and Khumtsa Shokhuli Sema.
It may be noted that deputy chief minister, Y. Patton during the inauguration of Notun Bosti welcome gate on January 14, had announced a cash of Rs. 5000 each to the oldest man and woman of the colony. The shawls were gifted by the council as sign of respect and to seek the blessing of the elders.
At a brief programme, NBCD chairman, Imkongnukshi Imchen said that the council after thorough verification found out that two to be the oldest from the colony.
On the occasion, the council also felicitated three of its members- Jatila Jamir DCP traffic on her induction into IPS the first from the colony, Rankathung Vikram Ezung, AIGP (OPS) Kohima for receiving police medal for meritorious service and advisor of NBCD, Holuto Aye for being nominated as vice president (Admn) Naga Council Dimapur.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by GB Lotha Khel, Notun Bosti, E. Jon Ezung.
