Prog for women street vendors held in Tuensang

The Tuensang chapter of uplifting women street vendors programme, organised by Entrepreneurs Associate (EA) and Capri Global Capital Limited was held in the town hall, Tuensang on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by presidents of all the wards of Tuensang, women street vendors, bankers, and district administration officials headed by additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Tuensang.
Speaking at the program, ADC and administrator TTC, Thungchanbemo Tungoe acknowledged Entrepreneur Associates for taking the initiative in creating awareness of the project to the people of Tuensang and also urged upon EA to open an office at Tuensang for which he assured assistance.
Encouraging women street vendors, he said that there was dignity in serving the society while also helping educate the children.
ADC also advised the vendors to get COVID-19 vaccination for the safety of family members and near and dear ones. He said that in terms of income, vendors were playing an important role in the district and needed to be educated in terms of investments for the long-term benefits.
Meanwhile, administrative coordinator EA, Yutho Sangtam in a short speech on EA and upliftment of women street vendors said that the Naga society had a strong desire to fit in every educated youth to the government sector but in reality, this was not possible.
She informed that coming up with an idea on entrepreneurship was a resort to satisfy the need of the hour of the society.
Commercial farming is a very important component for a business module, she added.
Yutho said street vendors played a crucial role in the society in facilitating organic needs and expressed the drive of EA in assisting the entrepreneurs in every aspect of their journey.
MO, district hospital Tuensang, Dr. Zerila also highlighted the importance of Ayushman Bharat health card and JSSK for the people, especially women street vendors.
She also highlighted the importance of COVID vaccination.
Senior assistant SBI Tuensang, Sankhil Shelmika spoke on the importance of financial planning and banking for women where she highlighted the schemes of government and SBI.
He also talked about the insurance, pension and loan policies of SBI and social security schemes.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by project coordinator EA, Chubazen Longkumer. The programme was followed by an interaction session.
