Dimapur District administration on Monday felicitated the players of Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) for winning the XII Inter-District Football Tournament Dr T Ao Trophy.
In the final, Dimapur team defeated Mon District Football Association 2-0 to lift the trophy at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
Addressing the players and members of DDFA at DC conference hall, DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan said Dr. T. Ao Trophy was one amongst the most prestigious tournament in the state where all the districts participated.
He lauded the entire DDFA team led by president and members for their commendable job in guiding the team to lift the trophy.
The DC further reminded the players not to feel complacent on winning the state tournament but to aim for higher goals.
Also speaking at the programme, DDFA president, Mughato Aye stated that district administration had been the backbone of the team throughout the tournament and acknowledged the administration for the support.
He said that at the tournament, Dimapur team made history to become the only team not to concede a single goal throughout the matches.
He further maintained that the team will start their session practice for the upcoming Second Nagaland Olympics, where Dimapur was the defending team in football.
Meanwhile, Dimapur District Football Referee Association (DDFRA) has felicitated the Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) for winning the coveted XII Inter-District Football Tournament Dr. T. Ao Trophy hosted by Mokokchung District Football Association in Mokokchung.
The association has also congratulated team manager, Toshi Yaden, coach, Brando and president DDFA, Mughato Aye for having faith in the players and their contribution for the team success. The association has also thanked the entire football lovers of Dimapur for their unceasing support towards the team.
